MEET 17-YEAR OLD MIXED ARTIST MAIA BESA
Artist Statement:
A lot of times the hardest part of my process is simply starting. The ideas in my head don’t always translate to paper and it can be very discouraging. The works I’m most satisfied with are a product of spontaneity and restless thoughts. It’s those times when I grab whatever medium is in front of me (especially lipstick) and I let my hands do the rest. Painting what my body tells me to has allowed me to trust and love myself more.
