Artist’s Statement

Art is subjective to the viewer and there is a medium of art everyone can

appreciate. I believe everyone can relate with at least one aspect of my creation

and through this creation I strive to connect with all people. My art style is

cartoon-like but realistic, perceptually childlike but not immature, childish, or

devoid of thought. My style seeks to portray common things differently than how

they are normally perceived, with a specific focus of altering the viewers thought-

scape. There is heavily symbolism and appreciation to light and language

(French and English) in my work. Much can be said for those artists who have a

diverse, global audience such as Basquiat and I aspire for heights such as these.

Creating has allowed me to entirely express myself without any restrictions

amidst a time when many people cannot discover their passions. I feel similarly

confined in my body and misunderstood without having the freedom to be able to

create. I hope through my creation viewers can find solidarity and confirmation

that whatever they are thinking or going through, they are not alone.
